First things first. "MUC" is Gaelic for "Pig". Don't be a pig! OINK!!

("MUC" sounds something like M-you-ichhh, and the "ichhh" part is like coughing up a hairball. Try it to amuse your friends!! If that doesn't work for you, just say "PIG". I won't be offended.)

This 8th release, MUC, by Supersonic Tartan Death Machine is equal parts music, mirth and message. Crunchy guitars and bagpipes and retro organs and synths drive the tracks, while the lyrics tell many a tale, some fictional, others based solidly in reality. A few songs are just out and out rants against humanity. There are songs about even-toed ungulates, eco-vigilantes, the undead, nudity, insects, passion, magical kingdoms, numerology, tragic world events, Jocks, late night passions, dragons, an artist's aspirations to stardom, gorgeous women and even...haggis. This is my weird little tartan infused world... enter, if you dare...

Quite a few of these songs are grungy, snot-nosed, in your face garage rock, and others have a slightly gentler touch. Who would have thought you could do all this with #bagpipes? It's not traditional by any means... but it was certainly a lot of fun to make.
